01 · SHADE DEPTH

First determine your shade depth

Start with how light or dark your skin naturally is. The quiz then helps you further with undertone and nuance.

01 · Shade depth

First determine your skin's shade depth

By shade depth we mean how light or dark your skin naturally is. This is separate from your undertone. Look mainly at your jawline, neck and areas of your face with little redness.

Does your skin fit best under very light, light, medium or deep? Based on that, choose two or three foundation shades that are close in depth. You can then compare further on undertone and test the best match on your jawline.

Find your foundation shade

Answer a few short questions and discover three foundation shades most likely to suit your skin.

Stap 1 van 3

Jouw kleurmatch

02 · UNDERTONE & TESTING

Then refine your match further

Want to better understand why a shade works? Check your undertone and then test your selection on the jawline in natural daylight.

02 · Undertone

Find your undertone

Your undertone is the subtle colour beneath your skin tone. It determines whether a foundation blends naturally with your skin, even when the shade depth already seems right.

Cool often has a rosy, reddish or slightly bluer glow.
Neutral sits nicely balanced between cool and warm.
Warm more often has a golden, yellow or peachy glow.
Olive has a subtle green-gold undertone and often looks less pink or orange.

Look mainly at your jawline and neck, not just at redness in your face. Then compare a few shades within the same depth to see which disappears into your skin most naturally.

03 · Skin test

Let your jawline decide

Apply small stripes side by side where face and neck meet. Look at them in daylight and choose the shade that blends most calmly with your own skin tone.

01 · Shade depth

First find your colour family.

Compare cool, neutral and warm within roughly the same shade depth. Use the shades below as a starting point; the Colour Match then helps you refine further.

03 · TESTING

How to test foundation at home

The right shade does not stand out as a makeup colour. It blends calmly into your neck and still looks believable in natural light.

TRY IT AT HOME AT YOUR OWN PACE

Test at least two promising shades

Place two or three small stripes side by side on your jawline. Give the product a moment to settle on the skin and then assess again in daylight.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN COVERAGE

Build up your coverage in layers

Wait a moment between layers so the mineral powder can blend beautifully with your skin through warmth and natural skin oils. This keeps the result natural and prevents you from using too much product. You decide how much coverage you want.

Choosing foundation: frequently asked questions

Start with your shade depth and then compare different undertones. Test two or three promising shades on the jawline and choose the one that stands out least.

A warm undertone often looks golden or peachy, a cool one rather pink, and a neutral one sits in between. Look not only at redness in the face, but also at the neck and jawline.

On the jawline, where face and neck meet. Your hand or wrist can differ noticeably from the colour of your face.

Test both shades side by side. Choose the one that matches most calmly at that moment, or combine two shades when your skin tone changes between seasons.

Yes. With foundation samples and sets you can compare several shades side by side at home before choosing a full-size product.

Yes. Sunlight and seasons can change your shade depth. Check your match again when your current shade suddenly looks too light or too dark.
